In residence: March-May 2020

Julie Ebbing holds an MA in Art and Craft from Oslo national academy of the arts. According to Ebbing the printed picture holds a long history as a medium for social and political commentary. In todays society we are living in a constant feed of pictures which easily loose their meaning. Through her graphics she can repeat and highlight different issues and fill the pictures with meaning again. Art becomes a medium for reflection and dwelling so that we can become observants and producers again. Not only consumers.

Ebbing has received grants from Nord-Trøndelag fylkeskommune, kunstneres vederlagsfond og Norske Bildende kunstnere. She as also received Kjell Nupen memorial grant, nominated by the academy of arts.

During her residency Ebbing hosted an artists talk evening in which she discussed his past work and practice. The event was live-streamed on our social media platforms.
