Are you interested in a residency at Artica Svalbard in 2024?

Susan Schuppli, artist-researcher and Henry Bradley, cinematographer at Isford Radio, Svalbard in April 2022

Expressions of interest are now open for international visual artists via our key partner OCA, deadline for submission is 4 August 2023.

OCA nominates up to three artists a year, offering curatorial support during their stay for a minimum of 6 weeks. Artica provides accommodation, travel and a per diem plus access to a studio space, print workshop, introductions to the local Longyearbyen community and onsite support.

Artica’s values are to think, challenge and inspire: Working with Svalbard’s natural cycle from the midnight sun to the polar night, we place great emphasis on deep thinking around some of the most pressing issues of our time. Challenging the perspectives of the polar regions and welcoming knowledge we don’t have, in order to inspire change. You can read more about our values, goalls and strategy here.

If you have an interest in the polar regions and/or the global perspectives, conversations and issues emanating from the high north, then we would love to hear from you.

See here for full details and how to apply via the OCA website. (Submit your interest by 4 August 2023)
