Cathrine Alice Liberg, Imagined Memories exhibition now open at Northing - Centre for East Asian Art and Culture

We are excited to share that Cathrine Alice Liberg has been invited to take part in an exhibition at Northing Centre for East Asian Art and Culture in Bergen as part of this years Bergen Literature Festival.

Imagined Memories features work developed during Liberg’s residency at Artica Svalbard in March - June 2024, where she explored the historical and geopolitical importance of the Arctic. Liberg's new works draw inspiration from ancient maps and Arctic exploration, combining these with contemporary themes to reflect on Svalbard's role as a crossroads of global interest. Her time at Artica Svalbard deeply influenced this body of work, which examines the Arctic as a "Res communis"—a shared space where history, myth, and modern geopolitics converge.

The exhibition also features works by fellow Queen Sonja Print Award nominee, Chenxi Chen (aka Hammer). The two printmakers will be in conversation with Ben Yu as part of the Bergen Literature Festival on Saturday 8 February.
