Welcoming the first NFFO resident Åse Kristine Tveit
We are very pleased to welcome Åse Kristine Tveit as she returns to Longyearbyen for the NFFO residency.
Tveit is a trained librarian and literary scholar, and has a PhD in library and information science. She is an associate professor at the Department of Archive, Library and Information Studies at Oslo Metropolitan University, where she teaches and researches children's literature and the sociology of literature.
Her research interests are, among other things, linked to representations of childhood in literature. Some of this comes out in the article "Hooded books with fur trim: A classic trail through Svalbard literature" (2012) and the documentary book Adresse Ny-Ålesund (2011), which in one of the chapters tells about growing up in the mining town. Åse Kristine has previously worked as a librarian in Longyearbyen and completed the Svalbard Ski Marathon 8 times.
You can find out more about Maritea and all the upcoming residents here.
Åse Kristine Tveit has been nominated by our key partner NFFO for the residency and will be staying in Longyearbyen until April.
