Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa exhibition at Nordover

We are very happy to share news from our Key Partner Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum, who return to Longyearbyen in November to open the new exhibition Our Arctic Archive at Nordover. Showcasing works by past Artica residents Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa.

Mark your calendars and join us for the opening of the Our Arctic Archive exhibition, showcasing works by the artist duo Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa.

Our Arctic Archive is initiated and produced by Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum and the curator of the exhibition is Lise Dahl. The opening will take place at Nordover on November 4, 2023, at 14:00, and the exhibition will run until April 14, 2024.

These works were created during their residency at Artica Svalbard in 2021. Artistic investigations were conducted through dialogues with people, exploration of nature, and documentation of the landscape. These Arctic experiences have been archived through the creation of linocuts on textile and paper, as well as through video and photography. The Sámi musician and joiker, Lávre Johan Eira, has composed the soundscapes featured in the exhibition.

Salo Myrseth and Skår Lisa are independent artists, but in their collaborative projects, they poetically explore their shared Sea Sámi heritage.

Verkene ble til under deres residensopphold hos Artica Svalbard i 2021. Kunstneriske undersøkelser ble gjort gjennom dialog med mennesker, bevegelse i natur og dokumentasjon av landskapet. Disse arktiske erfaringene ble arkivert gjennom arbeid med linosnitt på tekstil og papir, video og fotografi. Den samiske musikeren og joikeren Lávre Johan Eira(link is external) har komponert lydverket i utstillingen.

Salo Myrseth og Skår Lisa er selvstendige kunstnere, men i samarbeidsprosjektene deres utforsker de på poetisk vis sin felles sjøsamiske bakgrunn. Det er en fortelling om deres arv og deres samtid.
