We are excited to announce that applications are now open for NFFO members to apply for residencies at Artica Svalbard in 2025!

Are you working on a project related to the Arctic or northern regions? This is your chance to spend time in the Arctic and gain inspiration from the unique environment of Svalbard. The residency offers stays of four to twelve consecutive weeks, providing the perfect space for focused work and creative exploration.

Benefits for successful applicants

Successful applicants will live in modern self-catering accommodation. Travel costs are covered up to an agreed amount, and they will also receive a contribution to living costs during their stay in Svalbard.

Insights from Past Residents

Ellen Viste, who spent two months in Svalbard earlier this year, found her time here invaluable:

"Being in Svalbard gave me both ideas for later use and material I could work on right away. The landscape and community were inspiring, and the experience allowed me to deeply engage with my project in a way I couldn’t at home." she shared.

Viste emphasised the importance of fully immersing yourself in both the environment and the local activities, encouraging future residents to make the most of their time on the archipelago.
