Kreativ trykke workshop i koldnål med grafiker Ellen Karin Mæhlum.

Bli med oss lørdag 26 juni da vi tar et dypt dykk inn i mikro planktonenes verden.
Ellen Karin Mæhlum, tidligere residens kunster hos Artica, vil bruke koldnål - en grafisk teknikk der motivet blir risset in i en plate ved hjelp av en spiss stålnål. Platen farges inn med trykkfarge og trykkes på papir med en presse.
Vi henter inspirasjon fra Ellen Karins arbeide som er basert på plankton organismer, vi har et stemningskart fullt av bilder til å inspirere tegningen din. Du vil tegne motivet ditt før vi printer det i en farge for å så videre kunne male det med flere farger ved bruk av akryl maling.
Workshoppen er gratis og åpen for alle mellom 11 og 15 år.

Join us at 13:00 on Saturday 26th June as we dive deep into the world of micro-plankton.
This creative workshop hosted by Artica alumni, Ellen Karin Mæhlum will use Drypoint - a simple printing technique, using a sharp pointed needle-like instrument to draw pictures on to a plate. The plate then has colour applied and is printed onto paper using the printing press.
Taking inspiration from Ellen Karin’s body of work based on plankton organisms, there will be a mood-board of images to inspire your drawing. During the workshop you will spend time drawing your picture before printing in one colour of your choice and finishing with multiple colours of paint.
This workshop is free and open to all aged 11 - 15 years old. Booking in advance via info@articasvalbard.no is advised. The workshop will be hosted in Norwegian.
Ellen Karin Mæhlum was nominated by the Queen Sonja Print Award for a residency in 2018.
